We work in partnership with schools to inspire long-term change and ensure that those children who need it most have access to a high-quality oracy education. Through establishing a whole-school commitment to oracy, teachers and school leaders are empowered, passionate and motivated to ensure that the voice of all students is valued in school and beyond.
Each year, as a Voice 21 Oracy School, you’ll choose one of three pathways through which to develop your school’s oracy provision and drive whole-school improvements through its programme of support.
In each pathway, our programmes of support are aimed at enabling you to provide a high-quality oracy education for every child. Your school will also have access to our extensive programme of Open Learning which includes a range of short courses, events and online learning for all staff in your school.
Whichever pathway you choose will provide you with the tools you need to ensure oracy permeates all aspects of school life and drive whole-school change.
Our blended model of support reflects the ambitions of school leaders who understand that oracy is an essential facet of an effective, empowering and expansive education. Our evidence-based approach alongside support tailored to your school’s needs will enable you to provide your students with a high-quality oracy education.
As a Voice 21 Oracy School, you will have a relationship manager who will provide bespoke support and guidance throughout the year. At the beginning of your membership, they will help you to create an oracy action plan informed by an initial diagnostic assessment. They will provide you with support and advice about how to get the most out of being a Voice 21 Oracy School.
As a Voice 21 Oracy School, we will support you to understand the impact of oracy in your setting. We use short oracy surveys, completed by staff and students, to generate a personalised oracy report for your school which details teachers’ knowledge and confidence, students’ self-perceptions and beliefs.
Each year you’ll be supported to develop an action plan for whole school oracy development at your
school. This will be informed by your school’s oracy survey results and will be focused on developing practice in your chosen pathway.
You will be a part of our national network of schools, giving you access to our weekly members newsletter and online learning platform where you can share best practice, resources and ideas with hundreds of schools across the country. Your staff will also be able to attend regular regional and online network events to meet other teachers prioritising oracy in their schools.
Membership costs £2500 (primary schools) or £3000 (secondary schools) a year.
Discounts are available if you sign up for multiple years or when groups of schools sign up together.
For an additional charge, we can also offer exclusive, bespoke membership packages for groups of more than eight schools.
Please note our Voice 21 Oracy Schools membership is only open to state schools in England and Wales. If you’re based in Scotland or Northern Ireland, please contact hello@voice21.org to discuss how we can support you.
