Speak for change: what's next for oracy education?

Tuesday 18 May, 4 - 5pm

In light of the Oracy All-Party Parliamentary Group final report from their Speak for Change Inquiry, this participatory event will enable teachers and schools to share their response to the report and recommendations, and hear how they have already taken great strides to embed oracy into their classroom and throughout their schools. 

Voice 21 Masterclass: Oracy and Vocabulary

Wednesday 26 May, 4 - 5pm

This event will explore the link between oracy and vocabulary and consider how to create language-rich classrooms that encourage students to interact with a wide-ranging, complex spread of vocabulary, through both speaking and listening. It will also be an opportunity to learn more about ‘Voicing Vocabulary’, a Voice 21 project funded by the Dulverton Trust.

Valuing every voice: key learnings from our 'Get Talking in PRUs' project

Thursday 10 June, 4 - 5pm

In this Teacher Masterclass, project and impact leads from our ‘Get Talking in PRUs’ project will share the key learnings oracy has had on effective classroom practice and whole school culture and the impact on teaching, learning and students’ social and emotional development.  They will share practical ideas for teachers in both mainstream and AP settings to support vulnerable students to find their voice.

Valuing every voice: masterclass by teachers in our 'Get Talking in PRUs' project

Thursday 17 June, 4 - 5pm

This Teacher Masterclass will feature teachers from the ‘Get Talking in PRUs’ project, who will share practical ideas for both mainstream and AP settings that effectively support student participation, engagement and social and emotional development. They will also showcase the impact this has had in their settings.

What's involved in becoming a Voice 21 Oracy School?

Thursday 24 June, 3:30 - 4pm

Are you thinking about registering your school as a Voice 21 Oracy School for next year? This event will provide an overview of the Voice 21 Oracy Schools membership, outlining all the consultancy support, professional development and online learning available. There will also be a Q&A at the end

Inclusive oracy: students with social, emotional and mental health needs

Tuesday 6 July, 3:30 - 4:15pm

In this Teacher Masterclass, we will explore how can oracy be used to make a classroom more inclusive for children with SEMH (social,emotional, mental health needs). Voice 21 and teachers from our network of schools will discuss the benefits of oracy for students with SEMH, and show how can oracy be used to get anxious learners involved in the classroom without heightening their anxieties.
