We are delighted to announce that 67 schools across the UK have been awarded the status of Voice 21 Oracy Centre of Excellence in 2026.
This prestigious national recognition celebrates schools that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to embedding high-quality oracy education across their whole school. This is a significant accomplishment, which recognises the leadership, expertise and dedication required to ensure that every student develops the necessary speaking, listening and communication skills needed to thrive in both school and in life.
Oracy Centres of Excellence represent the gold standard in oracy education. Through their work, these schools can evidence the life-changing impact that oracy can have on students’ confidence, attainment, wellbeing and future opportunities. They are helping young people find their voice and equipping them with skills that are increasingly vital for success in school, work and life.
Their impact extends beyond their own classrooms. By sharing effective practice and demonstrating what is possible when oracy is placed at the heart of education, these schools are helping to drive improvement across the education system and inspiring others to follow their lead.
Kate Paradine, Voice 21 CEO, said:
“We are delighted to be joined this year by so many exceptional schools from across the country. The growth of the oracy movement reflects the hard work and dedication of teachers and wider staff across the UK to ensuring that their students are receiving the highest possible standard of oracy education. This is transformational for individuals and whole school communities alike.”
