Oracy October is back: The Time for Oracy is Now!

Oracy is everywhere: in the headlines, in Parliament and in staff rooms and classrooms across the country.  A high-quality oracy education can build a sense of belonging, strengthen disciplinary knowledge across the curriculum and create a school environment that is inclusive by design.

Join us for Oracy October to learn about how to create an ambitious vision for oracy in your school, support students with Developmental Language Disorders through oracy approaches and transform your teaching and learning through oracy.

Voice 21 works in over 1200 schools and 90 Oracy Centres of Excellence nationwide to build oracy into the curriculum, teaching and wider school life, which means that we have seen the difference oracy can make.

Throughout October, we’ll be shining a spotlight on the vital role that speaking, listening, and communication play in learning, wellbeing, and life beyond school. This year, Oracy October will include:

  • Expert-led webinars exploring The Oracy Framework, Developmental Language Disorder and more, with practical strategies for embedding oracy in classrooms and across subjects.
  • Guidance on creating a joined-up oracy strategy that strengthens subject knowledge and enriches the wider curriculum.
  • Insights from NAPLIC on building an inclusive culture of oracy for students with developmental language disorder (DLD).
  • Free resource packs to use with your students, designed to spark meaningful conversations.
  • First-hand stories from classroom practitioners about transforming their teaching and learning through oracy.

The time for oracy is now, so sign up below to join us for Oracy October and start working towards transforming your school through oracy.
